TECHOPARK
Facade Design
Skolkovo Technopark
Six lying high-tech scyscrapers
The Skolkovo project is designed to perform the role of the Russian "Silicone Valley". Many famous architects from around the world are taking part in its realization. Technopark will accommodate a business incubator, state-of-the-art offices and specialized laboratories. The facades include unitized parts, as well as steel fire-rated atriums

Our Role
Complete design of unitized aluminum and fire-proof steel stick systems including: concept drawings, materials take-off, bracketry, structural, thermal and acoustic calculations, shop drawings, fabrication drawings, installation schemes, etc.
"Broken" modules
In order to implement the architectural feature – a decorative protrusion above the second floor – we elaborated several individual design solutions and realized particular 6 m unitized panels in a special "broken" shape, which repeated the shape of the building
Project Challenges
The Architects presented the idea to add decorative fins with LED emitters on one end façade running the overall length of the building - exceeding 300 meters. This required a new and very expensive fire-protection system. Our designers found the solution by deepening the fixating brackets into the concrete wall between reinforcements, thus resolving the problem created by the 300 m lenght.
The Architects also insisted on insulating glass units (IGU) with huge corner cutouts. Our Team performed a set of specialized calculations, which convinced the Structural Consultant that an option using additional hidden transoms would be much more reliable and cost effective.
