EVOLUTION TOWER
Facade Сonsulting
Evolution Tower, MIBC "Moscow-City"
35.000 sq.m of cold bent glass units
Our team started working on the Evolution Tower project at the end of 2011. By that time several attempts to develop the façade concept of this extraordinary building were made by various companies, but none of them satisfied the Customer

Our Role
Facade Сonsulting
Façade consulting for the Customer included concept design and calculations, 3D modeling, elaboration of performance specification, tender drawings and documents, participation in tender process, project design and supervision
Building maintenance system
Unique geometry of the building required development of special techniques and equipment for the building maintenance units – BMU (around 12 m of work platform "pulling-in")
Project Challenges
The height of the building is about 250 m. This is one of the most "twisted" buildings in the world, with each slab rotated by 3 degrees from the previous one. The overall vertical rotation axis of the tower is more than 150 degrees.
The almost unprecedented shape of the building, complex deformation model of reinforced concrete structure, as well as a very brave decision to use cold-bent insulated glass units, demanded great efforts from everyone involved. The 35,000 square meter area of cold-bent glass has never been done before - setting a precedence worldwide.
